Nico Moreno is a guitarist and composer based in New York City, known for blending Latin American music, rock, and pop with jazz traditions. He began playing guitar at nine, performing rock music by thirteen, and later explored heavy metal, progressive rock, and fusion before settling on jazz and Latin styles.

At seventeen, Nico focused on jazz and improvisation, which inspired his latest album, Cornerstone. The album features collaborations with top NYC jazz musicians like Colin Stranahan and Michael Kanan, blending modern jazz with Latin and pop-rock elements.

Nico studied at New York University on a scholarship, where he taught guitar and studied under notable musicians like Peter Bernstein and John Schofield. He has led multiple musical projects, primarily his own trio and quartet, and has performed in Bogotá and various NYC venues. Currently, he teaches, composes, and performs throughout the city, continually exploring his diverse musical influences.

Nico’s Colombian heritage enriches his sound, incorporating traditional styles like bullerengue and pasillo—intricate forms from Colombia's coastal and mountainous regions. This diverse array of influences shapes his unique sound, characterized by intricate rhythms and emotive melodies that seamlessly blend jazz with Latin American and rock elements.
