Violinist Laurel Gagnon’s interpretations “sing with a naturalness that [is] both disarming and distinctive” (The Straits Times, Singapore, Singapore). Having earned top prizes at both the Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition and Singapore International Violin Competition, Gagnon has performed across the United States, Europe, and Asia. An active performer, Laurel has recent and upcoming guest performances at Boston Conservatory, Indiana University, Truman State University, Avaloch Farm Music Institute, Halcyon Music Festival, Vivace International Music Festival, and the Vincennes Recital Series in Indiana. Laurel is also a founding member of Vinola Trio, an ensemble consisting of clarinet, violin, and piano, curating programs of living composers.

Music

Laurel is a classical violinist, having been trained by traditional composers such as Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven. She specializes in building inspiring recital programs that combine these traditional masterpieces, hidden gems of the past, and newly composed works.
