Good Time Brass seeks to put the “good time” in brass music! We are a Brass Quintet made up of young professional musicians based in Los Angeles, CA. The members of the group met in graduate school at UCLA, and came together with a desire to provide entertaining music to communities while fostering an environment for artistic freedom and individuality.

Music

Good Time Brass focuses on bringing fresh and exciting music to an ensemble rooted in classical tradition. Performing chamber music for small audiences stems from the renaissance and baroque eras, where gatherings in living rooms were hotbeds for social interaction and creative music making, and we hope to extend that tradition into the modern age. Much of our repertoire consists of jazz and pop selections alongside entertaining classical and contemporary compositions, and we take pride in numerous in-house arrangements as well. We are proponents of fun and interesting music from all genres, whether that’s selections from West Side Story, “Cantina Band” from Star Wars, or arrangements of Laufey and Herb Alpert’s Tijuana Brass.
