About

Sharon Su has been called “formidable” as well as “personable and insanely talented.” Her work as a pianist and recording artist has received acclaim for its “breathtaking clarity and passion” and her writing has been praised as “illuminating” and “important.” She has recently been featured as a subject in the LA Times, SF Chronicle, VAN Magazine, and other outlets, as well as a book and a documentary. She was the recipient of the 2023 Hedwig Holbrook Prize and a 2023 Fellow with the Turn the Spotlight Foundation. She has published articles with VAN Magazine and written a chapter debunking myths about Clara Schumann for an upcoming book published by Clemson University Press. Since 2019 she has achieved 50/50 gender balance on all of her full solo concert programs and has recorded works by Clara Schumann, Cécile Chaminade, Louise Farrenc, Florence Price, Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, and Maria Szymanowska.
