About

Alexandra Sophocleus is a violist who enjoys creating performances that convey authentic musical expression and greatly enjoys collaborating in chamber music performances with other local musicians. Alexandra has performed with the Artaria String Quartet, as well as the South Dakota, La Crosse, and Mankato Symphony Orchestras. She has been a part of the assistant faculty at the Stringwood Chamber Music Festival in Lanesboro, Minnesota since 2019.

Alexandra completed her musical studies at Oberlin Conservatory of Music with artist-teacher Peter Slowik and recently finished her masters in Counseling and Psychological Services at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. She enjoys examining the intersections of music and counseling in how they allow people to access human experiences that provide profound healing. Alexandra currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she works as a Pre-Independent Licensed Therapist in mental health and also performs music locally.
