Public Opera engages many talented singers in the Seattle area for an opera quartet where we sing individual arias, duets, trios and quartets. Each show is tailored to an event depending on the singers. We perform a wide variety of classical opera and Broadway songs.

Below is a sample of some of the vocal repertoire we perform, however we can create a special program for your event, just let us know.

Vissi d’Arte – Tosca, Puccini during an uncomfortable conversation with Scarpia about the fate of Tosca's lover, Tosca sings of the two great driving forces in her life: love and music.

Amour viens aider ma faiblesse – Samson et Dalila - Saint-Saëns Dalila distracts Samson from leading the revolution against the Philistines. She sings seductively to Samson that his strength cannot conquer love.

Un bel di vedremo – Madame Butterfly, Puccini
Butterfly sings of the day that her husband who left her three years ago will return. She dreams of him sailing into the harbor and climbing up the hill to meet her.

Song to the Moon – Rusalka, Dvorak Rusalka is a water sprite and has fallen in love with a Prince. But she cannot come out of the water or communicate with him. She asks the moon to tell her love that she is thinking of him.

Einsam in trüben Tagen (Elsa’s Dream) – Lohengrin, Wagner Elsa relates a dream she had where a Knight in white was sent to her by God to defend her.

Seguidilla – Carmen, Bizet After being arrested for fighting in the factory by Don Jose, Carmen tries to seduce her jailer and sings of the fun times drinking and dancing in Seville inviting him to run away with her.

Voi lo sapete – Cavalleria Rusticana, Mascagni Santuzza sings to Mama Lucia about her son and how he has broken her heart with his old girlfriend Lola who is married.

Voce di donna – La Gioconda, Ponchielli After La Cieca (the blind woman) is accused of witchcraft and the crowd begins to threaten her life. She is saved in the nick of time by Laura the Duke’s wife. Grateful, La Cieca gives Laura a rosary along with her blessing.

Il Segreto per esser felici – Lucrezia Borgia, Donizetti
“The secret for being happy” At a banquet given by Lucrezia Borgia young Duke Orsini sings a rollicking drinking song.

Habanera – Carmen, Bizet After leaving the cigarette factory Carmen sings of the nature, fickleness and passion of love to the crowd.

Questa o quella – Rigoletto, Verdi “This one or that one, they’re all the same to me” sings the Duke of Mantua about all the beautiful women he will enjoy.

Recondita Armonia – Tosca, Puccini Mario is painting a picture of Mary Magdalene and comparing his love Tosca to her.

Vesti la giubba, Pagliacci, Leoncavallo
“Put on the costume” The show must go on for the sad clown whose heart is broken.

Che gelida manina – La Boheme, Puccini Rodolfo, the poet tells of his passion for poetry and hopes for the future then asks Mimi to tell him about her.

Nessun Dorma – Turandot, Puccini “No one sleeps” Calaf, the unknown prince from a far away land sings of how he will soon have Truandot’s hand in marriage.

Largo al facto tum – The Barber of Seville, Rossini Figaro the barber of Seville introduces himself as a man of great talents, famed throughout the city.

Di provenza – La Traviata, Verdi Germont attempts to console his son to return back home and away from a wanton woman.

Zwei Märchenaugen – The Circus Princess, Kálmán Mr X is a circus performer who sings of his vision of beauty: two white arms, a red mouth and fairy-tale eyes.

Votre toast – Carmen, Bizet The crowd toasts the bullfighter Escamillo and he describes the excitement and the drama of the bull ring.

O du, mein holder Abendstern – Tannhauser, Wagner
As the night falls, Wolfram sings an ode to the evening star.

Libiamo - La Traviata, Verdi The “Drinking Song”. Alfredo and Violetta sing this song of celebration for guests at a party. “Let’s enjoy ourselves”

La ci darem la mano – Don Giovanni, Mozart
Don Giovanni is trying to seduce the young maid Zerlina and she is trying to resist but eventually succumbs.

Sous le dome e pais – Lakme, Delibes Lakme sings to her maid that the Jasmine and Lotus are in bloom and let us flow along the river and enjoy their scent. She worries about her father but her maid tells her that God will protect him.

"Non, la sospiri la nostra casetta" – Tosca, Puccini After calming the jealousy of Tosca Cavaradossi & Tosca sing of their sweet nest where we love birds hide.

Au Fond du Temple Saint - The Pearl Fishers, Bizet Zurga the king welcomes his boyhood friend Nadir as he emerges from the forest after a long absence, and the two swear fealty to one another even though the subject comes up of a woman they both once loved.
